Why I'm Running
I care deeply about public education, and I share what most parents and grandparents want: to see our children flourish into kind, thoughtful, engaged citizens. SD23's motto, "Together We Learn," isn't just a slogan to me. It's a commitment to a school community where learners at every stage build mutual respect, empathy, and skills that last a lifetime. And I know that thriving schools rely on dedicated people: our teachers, CEAs, and admin teams, along with our bus drivers, custodians, and support staff, work long and hard for our kids. They have my respect and my support.

Educator & Business Owner
I served as an SD23 School Trustee from 2011 to 2014, so I already understand board policy, school budgets, and district planning. A retired teacher and former small-business owner, I've seen education from both the front of the room and the books. I'm married to Dr. John Brinkerhoff, a retired family physician, and I'm the mother of three adult children and grandmother to thirteen. My stake in strong local schools is personal and lasting.

I'm co-founder and president of Global Citizen Events, leading Taste of Home, The Global Schoolhouse, the Sustainable Development Challenge, Arts for Social Change, and Reconcili-Action, building a more welcoming Okanagan.
